Apple introduces new security features for users: All the details

Continuing with its emphasis on enhancing user security and privacy, Apple has introduced three advanced security features focused on protecting against threats to user. The three features are iMessage Contact Key Verification, Security Keys for Apple ID, and Advanced Data Protection for iCloud. Here we detail what these features are meant to do:

End-to-end encryption isn’t a new feature as such but Apple has introduced iMessage Contact Key Verification, under which users can choose can choose to further verify that they are messaging only with the people they intend. Apple says that is meant for users who face extraordinary digital threats — such as journalists, human rights activists, and members of government. The company further said that the vast majority of users will never be targeted by highly sophisticated cyberattacks, “but the feature provides an important additional layer of security for those who might be.”
