Apple holds the development of this ‘very useful’ iPhone feature

Apple was said to be working along with Intel on a feature that would let two nearby iPhone users communicate with each other even without any connectivity. The feature, tipped as ‘Walkie Talkie’ has been claimed to make use of long-distance radio waves to connect with another iPhone so users could send and receive text messages. WhileApple fans can only imagine the use cases of this ‘useful’ tech, the company, on the other hand, seems to have halted the development of the feature, according to The Information (via Macrumours).
The report even mentions that with this tech iPhone users could even send voice messages bypassing the cellular networks. It was designed to run on 900MHz radio spectrum. Just to be clear, this feature is different from the ‘Walkie Talkie’ feature found in Apple Watch devices that make use of Wi-Fi or cellular networks.
