Apple cable supplier to begin mass production in Chennai: Report

Apple’s cable and connector supplier, Cheng Uei Precision Industry Co, will start mass production of products in Chennai later this year, Bloomberg reported.

The Taiwan-based company’s move comes at a time when Apple’s other partners are increasing investments in India for iPhone production.

Foxconn and Wistron are increasing iPhone production capabilities in India.

Wistron, which assembles roughly 200,000 iPhone SE (2020) per month in India, plans to scale that up to 400,000 a month by the end of the year, as per media reports.
