APAC region to lead 5G adoption with 1.14 billion users by 2024: GlobalData

NEW DELHI: The Asia pacific (APAC) region will lead 5G adoption with 65% of global 5G subscriptions and about 1.14 billion users based out of this region by 2024, said GlobalData in a forecast report on Monday.

The analytics firm’s ‘Asia pacific mobile broadband forecast’ further asserts that APAC will be the largest region in terms of revenue in 2024 registering 44% of revenue market share, followed by North America at 32%.

In terms of mobile data traffic or usage, the forecast suggests that average monthly data usage in the region will expectedly increase from 5 GB as of 2019 to 11 GB by 2024 while the same is expected to be 9.98 GB by 2024 on global basis.
