Any policy for the e-commerce sector must ensure that its growth is not stunted in any manner: IACC

NEW DELHI : As the industry awaits the release of the e-commerce policy and rules which are expected to be soon notified by the government, the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) on Thursday said that any regulation for the e-commerce sector should ensure that its growth is not stunted in any manner. Stating that the draft norms of the current version of the policy was not shared with the industry, the organisation said that the way to ensure the policy and rules are positive is by “finalising them only after consensus has emerged through transparent and open consultation with all the relevant stakeholders.”

The last draft of the e-commerce policy was made public four years ago, prior to the pandemic.
