Android users may have a ‘SMS problem’

Android users are reporting a strange problem and are complaining to Google that their SMS on Google Messages app are getting deleted automatically. “I restarted my phone and when I opened my Messages app all my conversations were gone. Tried restarting the app and then my phone again. They’re all gone… not good,” complained a user to Google support forum.
The Google Messages app is also facing several other bug issues like messages and contact names getting interchanged along with frequent app crashes. In order to solve the problem people are mostly resetting their phones or simply switching to a different messaging app.
Interestingly, these issues have been troubling Google for quite some time and it is not restricted to just one particular device or brands. Phones like Pixel 2, 3, Moto G series phones, Huawei P20 series and others are facing the issue.
