AMBER Alert

Human trafficking is a big challenge for the world and children abduction is the most concerning factor in it. Various initiatives have been taken in many countries to tackle this. AMBER Alert plan launched by US in 1996 is one of such initiative where law enforcement issues an AMBER Alert and notifies broadcasters and state transportation officials. As a direct result of AMBER Alerts more than 728 children have been recovered since its launch. Going one step further, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in US partnered with Facebook, Google and Microsoft Bing to help find missing children. Apart from the US, the three companies are also working with Missing Children Europe and the Canadian Centre for Child Protection for similar service.
