Amazon job cuts: E-commerce giant lays off Indian techies in the US

Amazon has reportedly started laying off employees across the US as a part of the “largest job cuts in the company’s history”. After Meta and Twitter, the e-commerce giant might be planning to reduce 10,000 employees from its workforce. Amazon has reportedly offered two months period for its employees across the US to find some other job internally or accept the severance payment. Mass layoffs in the company’s device sectors have also affected several Indian employees. The company is also planning to include its retail and HR divisions to meet its target of 10,000 job cuts.

Amazon lays off Indian techies in the US
Among the affected employees were multiple Indian-origin techies who were reportedly working in the US with an H1-B visa. One of them was Saurabh Vaidya who was a part of the Alexa Privacy team and was working as an Applied Scientist at Amazon’s Greater Seattle office.
