Amazon down for thousands of users: Reports

Amazon was down for thousands of users on Wednesday, as per outage tracking website Downdetector and tweets on Twitter. At the time of writing this report, roughly 14,000 users in the US reported issues while accessing the e-commerce platform, data on Downdetector website shows.

Downdetector, which tracks outages by collating status reports by user-submitted errors on its platform, also shows a spike in reports of Amazon outages in India. Multiple users also reported outages at Amazon Web Services, the company’s cloud services unit. The reports, however, were fewer as compared to the e-commerce website.

Several users posted screenshots on Twitter showing that their “items are waiting” in their carts. One user claims that the message, “Sorry, we are experiencing unusually heavy traffic. Please try again in a few seconds” has been on display for “over an hour now.”
