Amazon, Catamaran to end Cloudtail joint venture next year

NEW DELHI: E-commerce giant Amazon’s joint venture — Prione Business Services which runs one of Amazon’s largest seller Cloudtail — with Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy-owned Catamaran Ventures is all set to end the JV from 2022.

In a joint statement on Monday, both the companies announced their mutual decision to discontinue their JV from May 2022.

Prione Business Services was formed in 2014 and is coming up for renewal on May 19, 2022.

Cloudtail – a wholly-owned subsidiary of Prione Business Services – is one of the biggest sellers on Amazon.in.

The JV has enabled over 3 lakh sellers and entrepreneurs to go online and helped 4 million merchants with digital payment capabilities, providing these SMBs and merchants access to millions of customers across the country, the statement said.
