Airtel unveils 5G in 16 cities of Bengal

Durgapur: Bharti Airtel on Tuesday launched 5G services in 16 cities and towns across the state. The new locations are: Berhampore, Old Malda, Raiganj, Durgapur, Balurghat, Alipurduar, Dinhata, Asansol, Bardhaman, Cooch Behar, Medinipur, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, Islampur and Kharagpur. The telecom major has earlier made its 5G services live in Siliguri, the second biggest city in the state after Kolkata.

Airtel 5G Plus services will be available to customers in a phased manner as the company continues to construct its network and complete the roll out and till then, the customers with 5G-enabled devices can enjoy the new network at no extra cost, a company release said.
