Airtel tests waters by hiking minimum pre-paid prices in Haryana, Odisha
New Delhi: Bharti Airtel has discontinued its lowest recharge plan in Haryana and Odisha, effectively increasing base tariff in the two states by 57% and raising the possibility of industry wide rate hikes almost a year after the previous round.
Airtel in the Haryana and Odisha circles had a minimum plan with a talk time value of Rs 99 and 200MB of mobile data valid for 28 days. With the withdrawal of the Rs99 scheme, the minimum monthly recharge plan in these states for prepaid subscribers now starts at Rs 155, but which has unlimited voice calling, 1GB data and 300 SMSes, for 24 days.
