Airtel says WiFi calling feature crossed 1 million users
Bharti Airtel’s recently launched WiFi calling feature has registered over a million users already, the company said in a statement on Friday.
The service uses WiFi networks to create a separate channel for voice calls and improves calling experience for customers.
There is no extra charge for making calls via ‘Airtel WiFi Calling’ and customers can access the service on their smartphone without the need for any app or SIM card.
“Airtel is the first to make the service live across India and our customers can use the feature on any WiFi,” Randeep Sekhon, chief technology officer of Bharti Airtel said.
