Airtel reports wider-than-expected Q1 loss of Rs 2,866 crore on Rs 1,470 crore one-time hit

Bharti AirtelNSE 3.64 % on Thursday posted wider-than-expected loss of Rs 2,866 crore for the quarter ended June 30 against a profit of Rs 97.30 crore in the same period last year. The company witnessed an exceptional loss of Rs 1,469.40 crore in June quarter against Rs 362.10 crore in the same period last year.

Analysts in an ET NOW poll had projected a loss of Rs 966.80 crore.

Arpu for the quarter was Rs 129 compared with Rs 105 in the corresponding quarter last year.
