Airtel Q3 postpaid growth signals hike likely only in pre-paid segment: IIFL

Mumbai: The current post-paid subscriptions to average revenue per user (ARPU) ratio bodes well for growth on both fronts for Airtel, indicating a lower possibility of tariff hikes in the higher priced segment in the near term, analysts said.

Airtel’s fiscal third quarter numbers showed healthy growth postpaid subs at 653,000 net additions, the highest spike in recent quarters. Its postpaid consumer base now stands at 19 million, making up nearly 6% of its total subscriber base.
