Airtel ‘looking forward’ to strengthening partnership with Open RAN vendors

NEW DELHI: India’s second-largest telecom operator Bharti Airtel is looking forward to strengthening its partnership with Open RAN (ORAN) vendors and scaling the technology commercially.

The telco in its annual report for FY23 said it has successfully conducted India’s first Open Radio Access Network (Open RAN)-based live 5G network validation in the field and achieved over 1 Gbps speed using commercial mobile devices.
