Airtel launches Wi-Fi calling in more cities, here are the names

Following its introduction in Delhi/NCR, Bharti Airtel has launched its Voice Over Wi-Fi service – ‘Airtel Wi-Fi Calling’ in Mumbai, Kolkata, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Airtel claims that its Voice Over Wi-Fi service will improve indoor calling experience. With this service, Airtel smartphone customers can switch to Voice over Wi-Fi calls when they are inside their homes/offices.
The company says that the service uses Wi-Fi networks to create a dedicated channel for voice calls and allows customers to “make telco grade calls to any network”. This, as per the company, would result in improving customer experience as one can seamlessly switch to Airtel Wi-Fi Calling.
There is no extra charge for calls made over ‘Airtel Wi-Fi Calling’ and the application is said to consume minimal data.
