Airtel launches 4G network in 26 Ladakh villages

Bharti Airtel Thursday said that it has rolled out its 4G and 2G networks in 26 villages across Ladakh to become the first operator to bring mobile broadband to these villages located in the high terranial region.
The areas where the networks have been deployed are spread across a 150 km stretch from Kargil-Batalik-Hanuthang-Skurbuchan-Khalsi.
The launch of the service, according to the telco, is a push to overcome harsh weather conditions and tough terrains in the region to allow the local community enjoy digital services like HD quality video streaming, superfast downloads and uploads, high speed internet browsing.
“This is a New Year gift from Airtel to the people of Ladakh. We are pleased to bring cheer to thousands of locals in Ladakh with the launch of our 4G & 2G services and bring 26 new villages on the world map for 4G.
