Airtel, Jio step up efforts to grab low-end 4G users

Bharti Airtel NSE -1.04 % and Reliance Jio have upped the ante in their efforts to acquire low-end 4G smartphone users and are ring fencing their respective 2G feature phone users by offering bundled services and cashback offers.

The Sunil Mittal-led telecom operator has reacted to Reliance Jio’s ‘Jio Exclusive’ bundling offers with its ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ program, which now offers Rs 6,000 cash back for customers who purchase a smartphone priced up to Rs 12,000.
