Airtel gets TDSAT relief on Videocon Telecommunications’s dues

The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has stayed the telecom department’s demand of ₹1,376 crore from Bharti Airtel towards adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues of defunct telco Videocon Telecommunications (VTL).

The tribunal on Thursday also directed the department of telecommunications to not take any coercive steps such as invocation or encashment of bank guarantee against Airtel for not paying VTL’s AGR dues. The matter has now been listed for hearing on November 16.
