Airtel and Vodafone Idea’s revenue to widen in Q3: Brokerages

New Delhi: Healthy data subscriber growth and Reliance Jio’s move to start charging for voice calls will fare out well for incumbent telecom operators Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (VIL), which are expected to see a sequential improvement in wireless revenue in the third quarter of FY20, brokerages said.

“Airtel and VIL’s mobile revenues to grow by 4.2% and 1.5% quarter-on-quarter respectively on higher 4G subscriber addition, low base on seasonality, partially offset by lower interconnect usage revenue as Jio start charging for voice calls,” brokerage firm ICICI Securities said its telecom sector quarterly review.
