Air India is taking GenAI to the skies via in-house integration

Air India’s outdated technology infrastructure, inherited by the Tata group when it took over the erstwhile state-run carrier, has given the new management the opportunity to leapfrog to the latest technologies such as Generative AI as it starts to overhaul the airline, Air India’s chief digital and technology officer Satya Ramaswamy told ET in a detailed conversation.

The technology transformation is aimed at giving Air India a competitive edge over other global carriers struggling to modernise their own legacy systems, and it will seamlessly integrate AI and cutting-edge technologies into the airline’s infrastructure.
