AIMRA seeks govt stimulus to revive mobile retailer business
New Delhi: Mobile phone sellers’ association has urged the government to ready a bumper stimulus package including salary support, rental relaxation, bank credit and other fee waivers to rescue 30,000 sellers from bankruptcy at a time of stalled business activity for the segment which already runs on thin margins.
The All India Mobile Retailer Association (AIMRA), which represents 1.5 lakh such retailers across the country, has reached out to finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman for an impetus to survive the COVID-19 crisis and avoid job losses, in the sector already marred by unethical competition from e-commerce players.
