AI should be regulated to ensure effective adoption, impact: Rajan Mittal

NEW DELHI: Artificial intelligence (AI) technology should be regulated to ensure effective adoption and impact, Rajan Mittal, vice chairman, Bharti Enterprises said Friday.

Regulating AI to build out responsible and trustworthy technology will have to happen in tandem with educating people who use it, added Vishal Sikka, founder and chief executive Vianai. Both were speaking at the Times Network India Economic Conclave 2023.

“In each and every technology, regulations are a must. Anything which is unregulated would bring huge disruption negatively as well as positively,” Mittal said, during a fireside chat along with the former Infosys chief executive Sikka.
