Ahead of Eid, Kashmir witnesses boom in online shopping

With the festive season in Kashmir to kick-starting next month, e-commerce business is booming in the Valley as almost all the online shopping companies are busy dispatching their products both cash on delivery and pre-paid shipments to thousands of shoppers. As per data of e-commerce companies 3000-5000 e-commerce shipments are being delivered to the Kashmir-based shoppers every day.

ZahoorQari, president, Kashmir Courier Services Association says several e-commerce companies that had trimmed down their business for the Valley in the aftermath of Pulwama attack have retained deliveries in all districts except Pulwama and Shopian.

“With Eid-ul-Fitr next month, these companies have already started receiving orders for clothes, accessories and even electronics. With the festive season about to set-in, online shopping business which had taken a hit is witnessing an increase of almost 50 percent,” said Qari.
