After remaining elusive all evening, P Chidambaram finally asked to appear before CBI within 2 hours

After remaining elusive for the entire evening, former finance minister P Chidambaram has finally been asked to appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation within two hours. Officers from the Enforcement Bureau and CBI had visited Chidambaram’s Jor Bagh residence, but the former minister wasn’t available there.

Earlier in the day, Delhi High Court had rejected former finance minister P Chidambaram’s anticipatory bail in the INX Media case,which opened up the possibility of an immediate arrest. This necessitated Chidambaram to urgently move Supreme Court against the High Court order. However, the Supreme Court turned down the request of an immediate hearing and laid down the matter for tomorrow.
