After Pixel 6, Google may make chips for Chromebooks and tablets

Google could be working on developing its own chipset for its upcoming laptops and tablets running Chrome OS, as per a report by Nikkei Asia, based on inputs from three sources. The tech giant has already announced its Tensor chips for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones. As per the report, Google may unveil the new chipsets by 2023.

“The new CPUs and the mobile processors that Google is developing are based on the chip blueprints of Arm, the Softbank-controlled UK chip company whose intellectual property is used in more than 90% of the world’s mobile devices,” the report says.
