After a brief halt, Nokia says resuming work with O-RAN Alliance

NEW DELHI: Finnish telecoms gear maker Nokia which had to briefly halt its activities with the industry group O-RAN Alliance said it is resuming its work with the industry alliance and emphasized its commitment to Open RAN or O-RAN.

“For a short time, we had to pause our technical activity with the alliance while important legal issues were ironed out,” said Tommi Uitto, President of Nokia’s Mobile Networks division, in an official statement on Tuesday.

Nokia’s statement comes after the industry alliance said its board has approved changes to O-RAN “participation documents and procedures” to allay concerns of some participants who may be subjected to US export regulations.
