Affordable tariff plans will increase 5G uptake in India: Ookla

Indian mobile users are keen to upgrade to 5G. As many as 89% of consumers intend to upgrade to 5G. Telecom players must keep 5G plans affordable to see immediate adoption, as per findings from Ookla’s July 2022 Consumer Survey of Smartphone Users in India.

With the launch of 5G services in October 2022, India joined the global list of 70 countries who have launched this next-generation technology. Ookla conducted primary research in July 2022 among Indian smartphone users to understand the pent-up demand for mobile data, and consumer willingness to adopt 5G services.
