Affected telcos believe have already paid over 10% of total AGR dues, next payment due March 2022
MUMBAI: Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea believe they have already paid more than 10% of the total adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and that their first instalment towards paying their balance liabilities will be due in March 2022, people familiar with the matter said.
This comes on the back of Tuesday’s AGR judgement wherein the Supreme Court gave a 10-year window for telcos to pay their balance AGR dues of over Rs 1.4 lakh crore, beginning with an upfront 10% of total dues by March 31, 2021, and the rest in 10 annual instalments ending March, 2031.
