Aadhaar Ordinance

The government has issued an Ordinance under which it allowed voluntary use of Aadhaar as identity proof for opening bank accounts and procuring mobile phone connections. For this, it amended the Aadhaar Act 2016, Prevention of Money Laundering Act 2005, and Indian Telegraph Act 1885.
