A day in the life of a cybersecurity analyst: Identifying threats, finding solutions & keeping data safe

In an exclusive interview to ET Panache, Claire Hatcher shares what it is like to be a cybersecurity analyst.

“An analyst at Kaspersky typically begins the day by looking at the data coming in from our servers in real-time. The next step is to figure out the threat patterns and techniques adopted by the bad guys. This is followed by identifying weaknesses in their approach and working towards putting in place systems to mitigate risk from such attacks. But as head of fraud prevention, my duties vary daily.

“On some days, I’m speaking at conferences and trying to educate people about the things I know. But I’m one individual — I cannot know everything. I love speaking to journalists and security experts in different countries to find out the threat patterns that they are seeing.
