Telecom department blocks over 300 mobile phones and disconnects thousands, here’s why

The Department of Telecom (DoT) has started blocking handsets as well as disconnecting mobile numbers that were used in fraud activities. This will help the government department to better protect mobile users against scammers. The move comes as a part of DoT’s Chakshu portal which was launched two months ago to handle telecom fraud-related grievances.
