Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Amit Shah deepfake reservation video: ‘I would have expected foreign…’

IT minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has lashed out at “a national political party” for spreading misinformation through deepfake videos. The reaction was in response to a deepfake video deceitfully portraying Amit Shah went viral on the internet. In the doctored video, the home Minister was seen advocating for scrapping all reservations.

Chandrasekhar said that he expected foreign vested interests to engage in spreading misinformation amid the ongoing elections, but India’s “oldest party” indulging in it was a “criminal act.”
