Bharti Airtel Q3 net profit rises 54% on strong data play
New Delhi: Bharti Airtel’s consolidated net profit for the fiscal third quarter jumped 54% from a year earlier, boosted by increases in data users, per-capita revenue and mobile internet usage. But the consolidated results were dragged down by currency devaluation in Africa.
Consolidated net profit for India’s second-largest telco in the quarter ended December 2023 rose to Rs 2,442 crore compared with Rs 1,340.7 crore in the preceding quarter and Rs 1,588 crore a year earlier.
Consolidated revenue stood at Rs 37,900 crore, up 2.3% sequentially from Rs 37,044 crore in the quarter ended September 2023 and 5.9% higher than Rs 35,804 crore reported a year ago.
