Telecom Bill a watershed moment in telecom reform process: Vodafone Idea CEO Akshaya Moondra

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea, India’s third-ranked telecom operator, said that the Telecommunications Bill of 2023 represents a watershed moment in the telecom reform process and reaffirms the Indian government’s commitment to provide the industry with a future-fit framework that helps achieve the growth aspirations of a “new India.”

“The Bill carries several forward-looking provisions that will help deliver the benefits of digital connectivity to all our citizens. We welcome the rationalization of penalties and the legal enforceability of right-of-way provisions, a long-standing request of the industry,” Akshaya Moondra, CEO of Vodafone Idea Limited, said in a statement on Tuesday.
