IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, SAMEER license 5G RAN technology to Tejas Networks for Rs 12-crore

NEW DELHI: In a major technology transfer deal, a 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) technology jointly developed by IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, and the Society for Applied Microwave Electronics and Research (SAMEER) has been licensed to the Tata group company, Tejas Networks, for Rs 12 crore.

“The three institutions are jointly licensing the 5G RAN technology to Tejas Networks (A Tata Group Company) who will play a vital role in leveraging it for further advancements and commercial applications,” according to an official press release on Monday.
