Satcom segment: $600 billion opportunity but many challenges

Satellite communication services has a huge potential market in India of up to $600 billion but there are still challenges that need to be addressed, according to industry players.

“The space economy is just 2% currently. In the next 5-10 years, this should jump to 5-8%. The potential is huge,” Rahul Vatts, Chief Regulatory Officer, Bharti Airtel said at a panel discussion ‘Beaming beyond Borders: The Orbital Voyage of Connectivity’ in the India Mobile Congress.
