Fingerprint cloning scam: 2 GHMC officials arrested

Hyderabad: Task Force police busted a fingerprint cloning racket and arrested two GHMC sanitation supervisors on Thursday. The accused were illegally claiming salaries of absent sanitation workers using their cloned fingerprints.

Acting on specific information, a Task Force team arrested A Sainath, 43, and Nagaraju, 29, supervisors in GHMC circle-14 at Goshamahal. Their colleague, V Vijay Kumar, 40, a supervisor of GHMC, went absconding. Police seized 31 cloned fingerprints and three biometric attendance machines from the accused.

According to police, the accused have been supervising sanitation workers and recording their daily attendance through biometric device allotted by GHMC.
