Vodafone, Amazon plans team up to beam 5G network via Kuiper satellites

Vodafone may be planning to work with Amazon’s Project Kuiper, its low Earth orbit satellite constellation to expand the reach of its 4G and 5G telecoms
networks.

The company said that Project Kuiper’s high-bandwidth, low-latency satellites would be used to connect mobile base stations in remote locations in Europe and Africa to its core networks, as per a report by news agency Reuters.

Reportedly, Amazon is preparing to test two prototype satellites in the coming months before starting to deploy production satellites in 2024 for its network.
