900 million Indians connected to the net means heaps of data. Global tech giants have their eye on those heaps. Now, a Made-in-India newbie is taking on big guys like Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, and the ever-popular Dropbox. Arnab Mitra saw businesses scrambling to go online and get their employees work-from-home ready during the pandemic. What he realised in 2020, after consulting with Niti Aayog, was that there wasn’t any indigenous alternative for cloud storage solutions.
“In the beginning, we were not very sure that we could claim to be India’s first SaaS storage solution, because sometimes it is just too unbelievable to think there is a gap like that. I mean, we have 900 million people online and didn’t have a single cloud company of our own?”
