Kerala actor suffers cyber attack for highlighting farmers’ plight

Popular Malayalam actor Jayasurya, who had publicly criticised the Kerala government for the delay in paying up dues to farmers over the paddy procured from them six months ago, is being widely attacked by supporters of the ruling Left Front.

Giving political colour to the actor’s criticism, CPM and CPI cadres said that the delay in receiving funds from the Centre was the reason for the delay in paying farmers their dues. When that is the case, the actor has criticised the state government and not the Centre. CPI’s youth wing All India Youth Federation even said that the actor’s criticism in public might have been an attempt to promote his upcoming film.
