Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.77%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.

Shares of MPhasis(up 2.37 per cent), Persistent Systems(up 1.56 per cent), Coforge(up 1.39 per cent), Infosys(up 1.23 per cent) and HCL Technologies(up 1.12 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Wipro(down 0.22 per cent) and Tech Mahindra(down 0.07 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
