Google makes its easy for Docs users to add line numbers, here’s how

Google has rolled out a new feature for its online word processor app, Docs. With this new feature, users now have the ability to automatically add line numbers. This feature was announced by the company on its Google Workspace blog post and will be rolled out to all Google Workspace customers and users with personal Google Accounts over the coming weeks.

How it works

The numbers are automatically calculated next to each line in the document and can be configurable for the entire document, a page, or a specific section. Additionally, these numbers are preserved when printing.
