‘Chinese woman key link in Rs 712-cr fraud’

HYDERABAD: It was a Chinese woman who played the key role in bringing together the Chinese fraudsters and their Indians accomplices in the Rs 712 crore investment fraud.

The key accused, Ahmedabad-based Prakash Prajapati, had met the woman, Shasha, more than three years ago during one of his trips to China as part of his garment business. Cops said it was this woman who introduced Prakash to the Chinese men running investment fraud. Soon after the meeting, he began to execute plans of the Chinese fraudsters to con Indians.

But police have hit a wall in their probe into Prakash’s crypto transactions to ascertain how much he earned in the racket.
