User engagement for Twitter rival Threads falls 70% post early euphoria: WSJ report

User engagement on Meta Platforms’ Twitter rival Threads has plummeted 70%, as per a report in The Wall Street Journal. The number of daily active users ( DAU) fell to 13 million down 70% from July 7 peak, said the WSJ report citing estimates from market intelligence firm Sensor Tower.

Meta unveiled Threads on July 5 and within hours of the app’s launch, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said 10 million people had signed up for Threads. Subsequently, the number soared to 100 million people, making it the first app to do so in that time frame.
