India and Japan ink pact to foster semicon ecosystem

India and Japan have signed a memorandum of cooperation to work together in semiconductor design, manufacturing, research as well as development of talent and strengthening of the chip supply chain, Union minister for electronics and information technology Ashwini Vaishnaw said.
“It has been agreed that India and Japan will create an implementation organisation in which there will be opportunities for government-to-government as well as industry-to-industry collaboration,” Vaishnaw said.
