EOW busts Rs 14-cr QR code scam

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Odisha Police has detected a new type of cyber financial fraud. Initial investigation suggests a Chinese link behind the scam.

According to the investigating agency, it is a big QR Code manipulation scam of Rs 14 crore.

The EOW arrested Karan Kumar Singh, a resident of Sector -19, from Noida in Uttar Pradesh and produced him in the Goutam Buddha Nagar CJM. Later, Singh was brought to Bhubaneswar on a three-day transit remand and produced in the OPID Court in Cuttack.
