Japan could become the latest country to ban Apple’s and Google’s mandates for in-app purchases and allow developers to offer their own payment options when spending on App Store and Google Play store.
According to news agency Reuters, a report by a government panel noted that major suppliers of smartphone operating systems, which in this case are Android (Google) and iOS (Apple), should be obliged to offer users alternative ways to obtain apps in a secure manner other than their own app stores.
