Foxconn plans to commission iPhone unit in Bengaluru by next April
The Karnataka government on Thursday assured a team from Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) it will transfer the land parcel to the iPhone maker in a month’s time so it can pursue its plans of commencing production at the proposed Bengaluru facility by April 1 next year.
A high-level team from Foxconn, the biggest contract manufacturer in the world, held discussions with industries minister MB Patil and IT/BT Minister Priyank Kharge in Bengaluru about taking their upcoming project forward.
“Senior Management representatives of #Foxconn visited me to discuss the establishment of an #iPhone assembly plant at Devanahalli. We addressed project-related challenges, emphasizing the development of vital industrial infrastructure and maximizing the creation of employment opportunities,” Patil tweeted, adding Kharge was with him during the talks.
